In line with the ensemble's name, KlangLab conducts musical experimentation once again in its 23/24 season. Through extensive rehearsal phases, the musicians, together with invited composers, develop pieces that often work in relation to space, at times making familiar objects sound different than usual, or even making them resonate for the very first time. As a sound laboratory, the ensemble explores opportunities for interaction with composers that question the juxtaposition of the creating composer and the interpreting musician. The season's theme, almost Carte Blanche, invites exploration not so much in the sense of granting a carte blanche of the utmost indeterminacy in a compositional project, but rather inquiring about specific sound possibilities that enable a collaborative process.
