Dino Georgeton, Percussion/Electronic

Dino Georgeton is an American/Greek musician and researcher who specializes in percussion and electronics within the fields of contemporary and experimental music. His activity as a performer is complemented by academic research on the (im)possibility of a politics in contemporary Western music.

Motivated by a questioning of disciplinary and authorial boundaries and the creation of new work, Dino has collaborated with leading composers and artists to realize performances and present his own sound installations across Europe and the United States. He regularly appears with the KlangLab ensemble (CH), Ensemble Ö! (CH), and neuverBand (CH), of which he is a member. In addition to his work with these groups, he frequently collaborates with several other contemporary music ensembles in the European scene. Such appearances and collaborations have included performances at festivals such as Wien Modern (AT), Festival d’Automne à Paris (FR), Two Days and Two Nights of New Music (UA), the Darmstadt Courses for New Music (DE), and Art Basel (CH). He has been rewarded with the Stockhausen Prize for Interpretation.

Living in Basel, Switzerland since 2015, Dino completed his studies in percussion with Christian Dierstein, and he is currently writing his doctoral thesis under the direction of Avital Ronell.
